The key to a successful attorney / client relationship is communication.  Ms. Mies believes that regular and consistent communication between attorney and client leads to success inside and outside the courtroom.  Her goal is to be in regular contact with each client and to keep each client informed of the status of their case and what to expect at each and every court appearance.

Ms. Mies has been a guest lecturer for the California Public Defender's Assocation, California Attorney's for Criminal Justice, Sinclair Seminars,  Association for the Treatment of Sexual Abusers,  and public defender offices throughout the United States as well as the Orange County Public Defender's Office.

As a sole practioner Ms. Mies understands the pressures on a client and his/her family while going through the long and seems like endless criminal justice process.  Ms.  Mies will spend as much time with you and your family as necessary to make sure you understand what the prosectution is trying to prove and how she can counteract the district attorney's office.  Ms. Mies can also refer you to a bail agent any time day or night.
